Q: Does C.E.S. test for asbestos, lead or mold?

A: No. We are environmental contractors only. Even though OSHA allows asbestos contractors to test building materials for bidding purposes, we prefer that an independent consultant or laboratory perform all testing and analysis. Lead is very difficult to accurately test for, and mold is unregulated in California.

We are very uncomfortable with the fox guarding the hen house.

We can provide a list of qualified consultants and laboratories in your area.

Q: How long have you been in business?

A: We were founded in 1985, incorporated in 1990, and are still owned and managed by the original founders.

Q: What licenses do you have?

A: We have a B Asbestos general contractor's license in the State of California and Nevada.

In California we are registered with DOSH / OSHA.

Q: What is your service area?

A: We work through out the states of California and Nevada.

Q: Who is AQMD?

A: The Air Quality Management District is the local EPA agency that regulates removal of building materials that contain over 0.1% asbestos and is over 100 sq. ft. in scope.

Q: If I hire you, when can you do the job?

A: AQMD has to be notified in writing 14 days prior to the start of any asbestos removal job over 100 sq. ft. in scope. If you need to have the job performed sooner, AQMD has special waivers, that if you qualify, allow us to perform the job as soon as possible.

CAL OSHA requires 24 hour written notification before the start of any size asbestos removal job.
